Lebanon Enterprise, Friday, 9/12/1917, Page 2 DAVID G. HOURIGAN David G. Hourigan, 46 years old, a farmer and one of the best known citizens of the county, died at his home east of this city last Thursday night of tuberculosis. He had been ill since suffering an attack of grip about a year ago. This left him in a weakened condition and soon afterward tuberculosis developed. After remaining there about three months he returned home unimproved, since which time his condition gradually grew worse.
Mr. Hourigan was a son of Apollos Hourigan, deceased and was a native and life-long resident of the county. He was a farmer by occupation and was engaged in that pursuit until his health began to frail. He was a member of the Baptist church and a member of the Marion Commandery, Knights Templar.
Dave Hourigan, as his friends and acquaintances knew him, was an excellent citizen and a most exemplary gentleman. Big of heart and endowed by nature with aspirations that always recognized the best in life, he was ever ready to speak a kind word and render a noble deed. He was devoted to his family.
The funeral services were held at the residence Saturday morning and were conducted by Rev. T. J. Porter, and Rev. R. L. Purdom. The burial was in Ryder cemetery with Masonic honors.
