Jarod also has a soft spot in his heart for animals. He took part in animal relocation program that returned chimpanzees to the wild, because he believed that no living thing should be put in a cage or a zoo.
Jarod believes his "Mom and Dad" are Major Charles and Margaret. They may not be Jarod's biological parents. Jarod has two siblings: Kyle and Emily, Jarod is the eldest. Jarod and Kyle are related, because they both share the same very rare bloodtype, (AB-)but Emily may be a stepsister. Kyle died after putting his life between Jarod and a bullet. After Kyle's death, Jarod donated his brother's heart to a young boy who needed it to live.
Jarod had been a part of a project called Prodigy, while at The Centre. The project directors kidnapped children who were biologically predisposed to be "pretenders", and subjected them to tests, experiments, and neuron-enhancement therapy. Jarod however was found to be a natural born pretender.
Jarod: I was taking from my family.
Sydney: Thirty-six hours and he is already demonstrating more talented than any of our others.
Jarod: How many people died because of what I thought up? Since I broke out I have spent every moment searching for my past.
