Walk in Shadow
Welcome to my poetry pages. What I have to offer is poetry that comes from my state of being, spiritual insights and beliefs and an assortment of other words and feelings. My poetry leans towards to darker side of my personality because that is when I am most creative. It may disturb you but it is your choice to read, not mine. All works and words on this sight are copywritten and protected. If you wish to use my words in some capacity, please ask and I will more than likely allow.
Toil

I walk the landscape of life.
The sun shines across the plain, as the wind gently blows through the wheat and rye.
I the plains there is peace and plenty, there is no one who goes without.
Love and understanding.
Kindness.
In the foothills are the challenges of youth.
Harsher realities can be seen ahead.
In the hills, change is slow,
and the challenges before you are small.
The sun still shines upon you, and the wind still breathes life for the soul.
In thee hills you can still find happiness.
In the mountains are the strife and toil of life.
The choices and risks are more peril less than in the hills.
Steeply climbing highs and stark and forbidding cliffs that seem impenetrable.
There are rapid descents into despair.
The sun shines but now provides no warmth.
THe winds howls and shrieks, providing no breath.
The oceans provide a cleansing baptism of cool clear water.
From the oceans come the source of life.
Gentle waves wash away the torment and pain of crossing the range.
Drowning the sorrow of the mind, as you submerge the soul.
Stray not long in the deep waters, for the winds of life are needed for the soul.

Alone

While the eyes search the horizon
Looking for a glimpse or a sign
The porch light continues to burn
Tears freeze in the cold
The vigil continues.......Alone

The crossing

Weary are the eyes that look up from the hole
Empty is the soul that has lost all hope
Shattered is the spirit that is trapped in shadow
Broken is the body that lives in total pain
Trapped is the light shrouded in darkness
Overjoyed is the man that crosses to the Nether
