Not of one mind
we come, gentle Jesus.
Not even pretending
that we agree,
but here in your house
we belong to each other
one body, one spirit,
one boat on the sea.

Help us to see you
in the eyes of the other,
to know Christ who binds us
in wine and in bread.
Come, gather our brokenness,
heal our divisions,
that we may be worthy
to go where we're led.

Struggling to steer lives
fit for your calling,
buoyed by our faith,
full of fear when we fail.
Grace us anew
with your promise of presence,
blow a new wind
through our fluttering sail
