| Originally from Masterton, I began dancing at the age of three, learning Classical ballet. This invoked such an enthusiasm for the arts that at the age of seven I added Tap, Jazz and Theatre to my studies. I later gained my Solo Award in NZAMD Jazz and my Solo Seal in NZAMD Tap before continuing my dancing education at the New Zealand School of Dance. During the three years spent at the School of Dance I gained my Student Teachers Certificate for the RAD. I also became an Associate of the ISTD in the National Branch and gained my National Diploma in Teaching Dance. Since leaving I have gained the RAD Teaching Certificate making me a fully registered teacher. I have an ongoing love for the theatre and have performed in many stage productions, I have also choreographed a number of shows. Recently I gained a scholarship from the renowned LA Danceforce to attend classes at the Edge Performing Arts Centre in Hollywood. I have been teaching now for eleven years, starting as an assistant teacher, teaching after school at the dance school I grew up with. I assisted teaching with Ballet and Tap from the age of 15 and taught Jazz in a sole charge role from this age also. I adore teaching and have done from a young age, it is my wish to pass on the beauty and the enjoyment of movement to children who wish to learn, to nurture their development, and develop their potential. |
