| In conclusion, ants are totally cool. Especially these fine ants that we had the pleasure to work with. They truly are a beautiful species of ant(especially when compared to Argentine ants. Ugh!! I hate them so much!!!). Now that we are done using these ants for our projects, you may be wondering what is to become of the colony. Well, they will probably reside in my room until the very last one drops it's little head in death. Who knows, they may last for years if one of our queens turns out to be fertilized. If not they should last another month or so. They definatly make an awesome pet. I see the colony not as a group of small individuals working together, but rather as one larger creature. The arena is its mouth and anis, the nest is its body, stomach, and intestines. The ants are not individual insects with free will, but rather individual cells of this single being. Ants truly are one of the best examples of the old addage "Two heads are better than one." |
