INTRODUCTION: I am currently
a disc jockey at WRFR 93.3
and 99.3 in Camden/Rockland,
Maine. We are at two places
on the FM dial. WRFR is a
non-commercial station, like
my first station (WSJB
91.5 in Standish/Windham,
Maine).
I have two different shows
on WRFR. The first is on
Mondays, titled "Smash
Alley." It runs from 1 PM
to 5 PM every Monday. I
play the best in arena rock from the 1980's through today.
You hear a lot of great
stuff on Smash Alley, an
awful lot of variety. I
play newer music by a lot of established bands like
Motley Crue, Ratt, Bulletboys, Poison, Dokken, Skid Row, LA Guns, Warrant and Quiet Riot to name a few.

I like to promote more
recent groups who are
helping to keep the sound
alive. You can get a look at some by viewing the roster page or my links page.
A lot of these newer
groups also get coverage
on my Tuesday show, which
I am about to mention.
My Tuesday show is also on
from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
It is titled, "I wanna be
famous."
On this show, I play
unsigned, up and coming,
underground and independent
artists/bands. From time
to time, I throw in some
major label and established
bands. There is a wide
variety of genres covered
here, including hip hop,
rock, metal, punk, pop,
country, new age and
instrumental, there is also
a little reggae, folk and
adult contemporary.
Basically, virtually every
cd I receive is put on the
air. Tune in since it is a
great way to find out what
groups you should be
listening to (don't let
Rolling Stone tell you
EVERYTHING, it will get to
the point where they tell
you how to tie your shoes
if you listen to them too
much). These are some hot
bands who aren't getting
coverage in Spin, Rolling
Stone, MTV or VH1.

LATEST NEWS:
-I made various updates to this site on 4/12/07.

-As of late 2006, my Tuesday show "I wanna be famous" is now 3 hours instead of 4. The new time slot is 1-4 PM each Tuesday on WRFR.
BIO:
Will Matson was born in
Maine in 1980 and has lived
there ever since. Will is a
Pisces who leans toward
the Libertarian side of
the political spectrum. He
has been a fan of rock,
glam and metal since five.
Some of his early favorites
were Motley Crue, Ozzy and
Georgia Satellites, Bruce
Springsteen and Faster
Pussycat. Today, Will owns
roughly 1,000 albums.
Will started out in radio
at WSJB 91.5 (Standish,
Maine) in September of
1998. WSJB is a small
station, non-commercial.
It doesn't cover a huge
amount of ground but is
able to cover ground in
decent sized cities such
as Windham, Portland, Old
Orchard Beach, Saco and
the Sebago Lakes Region.
Will hosted several shows
at WSJB including the top
rated show at the time,
"Monkey Business," a show
which is similar in format
to his current show,
Smash Alley.
Will worked with a variety
of talented disc jockeys,
who are also diehard music
fans. These jocks include
Travis Custeau, Nate Dowse
and Frankie Canillas (who
Will spent the most time
working with).
In May of 2002, Will left
WSJB. He joined WRFR,
an enterprising station,
in June of 2002. By July,
Will had established a
regular presence at the
station which continues
today. The rest is yet to
come. If there are any
