1. There are two things that determine your entire life: the amount of socks you have and the amount of underwear you have.

2. Tolerance is a learned virtue.

3. Happiness is getting an A+ on a supposedly semester long project you stayed up until 5:45 a.m. the night before finishing.

4. Trivial Pursuit is not meant for anyone who was raised on Nintendo.

5. “Saved By The Bell: The College Years” had it really, really wrong.

6. Just close your eyes, open your mouth and swallow whatever dining services wants you to.

7. It’s amazing what hindsight shows you about how crappy high school was.

8. Don’t put up with any crap…ever.

9. You just can’t get what you want from bureaucracy unless you are very, very nasty...sometimes.

10. Things always work out for the best.

11. Inside jokes last only so long (frozen peas anyone?

12. Watch your checking balance, it disappears faster than a promise from Residence Life.

13. Some friends you don’t really appreciate...until later.

14. Some people will never change.

15. Nintendo is a very good company…just not when you have a paper due the next day and Smash Brothers is calling you.

16. Sometimes you just need to escape…to New Jersey.

17. Residence Life, Dining Services, and the Parking Office are the most evil organizations on this planet.

18. When it comes to writing, college changes almost everything.

19. Don’t work nights at any job, you miss out on dinner with your friends and a lot of activities.

20. Be nice when you least want to.

21. When you really mean something (positive or negative), say it.

22. TV is a lot less important in college, except for a few shows you watch with friends.

23. Core Humanities finals are awesome!

24. Don’t judge a class by its name or description.

25. If you think you should drop a class, talk to a lot of people and then go with YOUR gut!

26. Cereal is an all-purpose filler.

27. Organize alarm clock rules first; they are a key roommate problems.

28. Always have TWO alarm clocks!

29. Buy really good slippers, you’ll spend more time in them than you think.

30. Always buy the maximum amount of controllers for your Play Station or Nintendo.

31. Buy the biggest TV you can afford, it makes a BIG difference for those late night video games.

32. Know your roommate’s schedule, it allows you to circumvent annoying roommate/friend situations.

33. Don’t forget to pack your dress clothes, you will need them.

34. Avoid laptops unless you can buy the top of the line model right before you go to school.

35. Get a summer job before you go to school, you’ll need the money!
