Well, the history of of [DK], Dark Knights, and its leaders is actually quite long. So you might as well kick up your feet and get comfortable...
A long long time ago, about 1998, there was another type of "game" that was being played on the battle.net servers called "warring." Back then you could have Ops (be an operator) in any channel if you were the first in the channel. So clans would have about 3 or 4 channels they they owned, i guess you could say, and kept ops in. They monitored them, kicked or banned people that they didnt like, and just hung out in them. So clans would load Bots with all types of names, for example, maybe a simple name like AcCess~B(1)T, AcCess~B(2)T, AcCess~B(3)T, etc. inside thes channels. The reason for this is that there were 9 servers, and they would sometime split, or other times not, but if another clan didn't like you they would "war" you and load in your channel. Yes, you could ban them for the time being but once the servers dropped and split, the clan to load the fastest would gain ops and be able to ban whomever they pleased! Well, this is the environtment that c|A|PsYcHo and {bA}AcCeSs` first met. They just happened to meet in a channel, started chatting, and from then on became SC buddies! They warred a bit more, but never eachother, and then B.net started putting a stop to warring on their servers. Yes, it was a sad site to see but they started permanently splitting the servers. PsYcHo grew bored of what came to be, and left what was now U.S. East and went to U.S. West and in the year 2000, maybe late '99, created a gaming clan called Dark Knights! AcCeSs and PsYcHo still stayed in touch. AcCeSs kept on warring on the U.S. East server and PsYcHo doing his thing on the West server. But the time came when B.net put an end to warring. The nice servers were sliced and diced, the ops in public channels was cut off to clan channels and such. So AcCeSs went to the West to be with his old warring comrad, PsYcHo. PsYcHo decided he could use the help to lead [DK] since it was growing, so AcCeSs joined and became leader alongside PsYcHo. Things went well for about a year and people joined and left, as did AcCeSs. He decided to resign from leadership, as the reason is unknown, and left it to only PsYcHo. He would still come in and visit, because deep down [DK] was still his family. But then in the mid summer of 2001, the clan slowly started to fade. It was a good run. Tournaments were held within the clan, friendly matches, and practices were even held for members to help them on quickness and strategy. But the time comes when everything must end, as did [DK]. Well, it's now the second month of 2008!!! AcCeSs and PsYcHo are still in touch and had already spoken about Starcraft II and that they thought it was going to be a great game. But never did they take the time to think about what else could be revitalized besides starcraft! And then AcCeSs, out of the blue, messages PsYcHo while he is studying for his mid-term and asks him how he feels about re-started [DK]. PsYcHo thought that it was a great idea. His hard days of college were coming to and end, he would have more time on his hands, and it would be an awesome adventure alongside his long-known friend, AcCeSs. So here we are ladies and gentlemen! [DK] - Leading Starcraft II. |
