Changing Your World
Matthew 6:19 - 21

19: Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The "treasure" mentioned here simply means our thoughts.  "Heaven" speaks of the realm of the spirit.  "Earth" is the realm of matter, which is material things.  The "moth" is fear that eats away at our thoughts.  "Rust" is worry that corrodes and destroys godly positive thoughts.  "Corrupt" means to breed.

In light of the Oriental Philosophy these scriptures should read as follows;

6:19
Let not you thoughts be centered in material things where fear and worries breed defeat and frustration, and where doubts break through and steal your thoughts:

6:20
but let your thoughts be centered in the spirit, where neither fear nor worry breeds defeat and frustration, and where doubts do not break through and steal your thoughts:

6:21
For where your thoughts are, there will your heart be also.

If our thoughts are centered in material things, our lives will surely be plagued with defeat, frustration and despair.  The reason for this is that the things we see now are not really dependable.  We watch them come and go.  Everything we know through our five senses is in a state of change and decay.  But when our thoughts are in God, there can be no fear, worries, defeat, or frustrations.  We are not staking our lives on that which changes, but on Him who changeth not.

Is it time to change your world?

An individual will always act in accordance with the dominant pictures, images and beliefs which he or she hold in their minds.  One may occasionally extend his or herself outside this realm, but ultimately life's patterns will conform back to images, pictures or beliefs which are held.

Where do these images, pictures  and beliefs come from?  How did they get there? can they be changed?  These are all very important questions and need to be answered.

First one must realize thst everyone is born with a blank page in his or her mind.  Everything that is learned comes from a source outside of the individual.  This information begins to paint the pictures and leave the images in the mind that develop into one's belief of oneself.

Secondly, God has given everyone free will to either accept or reject, to select or neglect whatever they chose.  What an individual chooses to think on and accept is what will  develop into his or her belief system.

Therefore it is critical for us to focus on that which will help us and be best for us.  God gives us the best guidance He can in Proverbs.

Proverbs 4:20-23
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

As we by our free will keep our hearts (the inner  most part of our mind) with all diligence, focusing it on God's Word, we will get the benefits of it.  If you want to change your world, it is as easy as changing your mind.  As your mind stays focused on the things of God, then those images, those pictures and those beliefs will fill our minds and we will be able to act accordingly.

Changing our world also depends on trust.

In Proverbs 3:5 we read,
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thy own understanding.

We have all trusted in someone or something at different points in our lives.  But what steps do we take to trust God?

There is one way to look at it that might help us along the way.

T =   Take God at His Word
          Numbers 23:19
          God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he
          should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do
it? or hath he spoken,
          and shall he not make it good?
R =    Rhema is a Greek word that means each individual word as opposed to
           the Word of God as a whole.  We need to look to each individual word,
           because every single word that God has given is full of power.
           Luke 1:37
U =    Understand it
          Once we go to God's Word we need to work it to the end that we
          understand.
S =    Steady input
          Once we understand the words in God's Word we need to have steady
          input.  This regular feeding  of God's Word enables us to keep our eyes
          focused on the truth.  James 1:21
T =    Try it
          This is where it all comes together, because without trying it, there can
          be no results.  James 1:22

God wants us to know Him and the more we know, the more we can truly love Him.  God's Word contains the knowledge of Him so that we can learn of Him and love Him with all all our heart, mind, soul and strength.

God bless and keep you.
God never alters the robe of righteousness to fit the man;
He changes the man to fit the robe.
