This section has been divided into two: The Factorium and The Hall of Heroes. The Factorium is a resource for players of games in the Games Workshop stable to find the best models to represent the Adeptus Arbites on the tabletop in a variety of scales. The Hall of Heroes gives links to galleries of some of the best-painted and -converted Adeptus Arbites models on the Internet... and some of mine. |

Adeptus Arbites Classics - Jes Goodwin's original Adeptus Arbites sculpts are still available and still popular with players of Imperial Guard and Witch Hunter armies. These classics include:
Necromunda Enforcers - Oh, sure, they aren't really Arbitrators. They're Enforcers. But when you're looking down the barrels of their shotguns, do you care about the difference? I'll be using these guys for the new Precinct I'm planning - work starts in Summer 2006...
Space Marine Scouts - The new, plastic Space Marine scouts make great Executioners (see the Gallery below). And in Summer 06, the plastic Space Marine scout snipers will be released to general rejoicing!
|
Arbites at eBay - Naturally, the number of items at this search string will vary, but eBay is still a great source of new and (more often) used Arbites miniatures in various states of repair. If you're prepared to do a bit of work on paint removal, then you can pick up some fine bargains. |

Based on the Jes Goodwin sculpt of Fabius Bile, this Judge has had a wig and a fur trim for his robes added. His arms are from the plastic Space Marine range and the "power gavel" counts as a shock maul. |
My favourite model by far. Using the otherwise execrable Macharius model, the cane from Fabius Bile, the head from the Arbites Champion, the cloak of the Classic High Elf character, Korhil, and a book from the Mordheim range, this model has great tabletop presence! |

As there was no 28mm cyber-mastiff model available when I started this project, I looked for good alternatives and settled on this classic Wood Elf Warcat. I don't know if it's still available from Mail Order, but it's a lovely model. The cat theme ties in with the Marshal's cloak. I got three of these. |
I could've got away with not converting this model at all, but I had a spare Arbites head. It ties him in with the rest of the army. He looks more rough 'n' ready than I would imagine an Imperial lawyer, so I might repaint him at some point. |

Viridian shields from Urban Mammoth's VOID range are a great choice for your Shock Teams. But cutting the shock maul off the one and only shock maul model in the GW range makes each of these rather expensive. Get the Necromunda Enforcers instead - I will. |
You could easily use straight Space Marine Scouts in this role, but to add extra menace, I green-stuffed balaclavas over their heads. The silencers were a bit of fun, but they again add some menace and character to these otherwise instantly recognizable models. To really drive home their allegiance I've also sculpted fists onto their right shoulder pads.

As well as the basic models, the judicious use of a hacksaw can give the Patrol Team some character. The head with the goggles is from a Space Marine Scout biker and I've added an eagle from the old metal Space Marine Dreadnought banner pole. This is a bad image. I'll try to get a better one in due course.
This guy was a test model for my new Precinct, work on which should begin in early 2007. Watch this space. |
These Catachan Imperial Guard models have been painted up as Penal Troopers. One day I'll finish the rest of the platoon... Here're a couple of Martyrs, too:
