| Well the best-selling novel is now a major motion picture. The Da Vinci Code has been on the top of the best-seller list for a while. But what has been so intriguing about it all? Perhaps it�s the conspiracy theory approach? But this can�t be since there are other works with conspiracy theories. Is it the character, Robert Langdon? Hardly�The truth is that The Da Vinci Code is the latest attack on traditional Christianity. Dan Brown�s use of facts turned fiction has got the whole world thinking that the fiction is really the facts.

| Is there any truth to the claims in The Da Vinci Code? I don�t think so. In this work, I explore three basic assertions of The Da Vinci Code; The Divinity of Jesus Christ; Mary Magdalene and her relationship with Christ; and the formation of the New Testament Scriptures. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This seminar was given for several reasons. First, in order to be able to "speak the truth" in love (Eph. 4:15), one must first have the truth. This, it was my purpose to give truth in order to be able to speak it. Secondly, while some Christians view The Da Vinci Code only as a threat to the Christian faith, I choose to view it as an opportunity, particularly to "give a defense for the hope that is within you" (I Peter 3:15). And finally, it is within the exhortations and commands of Scriptures to "contend for the faith that was once for all delievered to the saints" (Jude 3). Make no mistake, The Da Vinci Code is an attack on Christianity, so while the book gives us an opportunity to share some great truths about Christianity, it is through the DEFENSE of the truths in Scripture that we are able to share. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
