It has come to my
attention that quite a few
Americans support our troops, but
as usual, we are the silent majority. We are not 'organized' to really reflect
who we are, nor our opinions. I would like to start a grass roots movement using
the membership of the Special Operations Association and the Special Forces
Association to recognize Americans who support our troops.
My idea is not to stand
on street corners once or twice, not to carry stupid signs in a rally, not to
carry our flag in parades. It's much simpler than that. We need to inform the
local VFW's and American Legion, our local press, local TV, and even continue
carrying the message up to the national levels as we start to get this going. My
idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is that starting
Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, that we and every red blooded
American who supports our young men and women,
WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press,
TV, lets see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red
much like a home football game at the University of Nebraska. If every one of
our memberships shares this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, drinking
buddies, country club friends, I guarantee you that it will not be long before
the USA will be covered in RED
- much to the disdain of the un-American
ralliers. Let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
Thanks for your time and consideration of my proposal. When I get home, I intend
to send this out to everyone on my e-mail list; hopefully, you will too.

PRESIDENTIAL
PRAYER REQUESTS FOR MAY 1, 2003
Now that President Bush has declared that the war in Iraq has ended, give thanks
to God for its quick ending. Pray for the president as he works for peace and
security in America.

Pray for Jay Garner, as he works to develop an interim government for Iraq. He
will oversee reconstruction until the interim government takes over. Pray for
cooperation and trust to prevail among the many factions in Iraq.

Pray for the troops remaining in Iraq and those returning home. Pray that the
gratitude will be as strong for those returning later as for the first waves.
Pray for the necessary adjustments to be as smooth as possible.

Pray for Gen. Tommy Franks as he continues to direct coalition efforts.

Pray for members of Congress who seek to influence government for good by
standing strong in their beliefs. Pray that they will have the freedom to speak
with boldness and respect.

145,000 troops
still need our prayers!
On
Saturday, May 17th, America
celebrates Armed Forces Day. In the past few months, we have been vividly
reminded of the character, courage, competence, and compassion of these brave
men and women who protect the freedoms we enjoy. The Presidential Prayer
Team is proud to support our troops by praying for them each day through
the “Adopt Our Troops” campaign. These 145,000 troops still need our prayers!
During the First World War, blue stars were issued to parents who had children
serving in the military. When a soldier was killed in battle, the blue would be
replaced by gold, giving rise to what we now know as the Gold Star Mothers. In
the spirit of that remembrance, we are pleased to offer the Presidential Prayer
Star for those who are praying for members of our military.
To download the Presidential Prayer Star free,
click
here. Posting it in
your window is a great way to remind yourself and tell others that you are still
praying for our military, especially on Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day.
Thank you for taking part in our “Adopt Our Troops” campaign, and for praying
daily for our Commander-in-Chief. God bless you.
Keep praying…
