Poems
by friends
for
Mike and Casey:
two men sharing one heart
God touched them from the start.
gift to each other;
one special brother!
they know laughter, tears and guidance
has formed their tender alliance.
each man will share the fight,
as angels lead their flight
through the tough battles of this life's pain;
in His Love, these brothers, will sustain.

MY
DEAR BROTHER
My
dear brother,
I wish I knew
how you could smile
through your terrible sickness.
You seem so strong
and always happy.
You never think or complain
about your cancer.
You're always happy and sweet.
You go on with your life
as if nothing were wrong.
But secretly we both know.
Your smile almost makes me forget
about your sickness.
I feel like crying every time
the doctor says there's nothing
else he can do for you.
But you react only with a smile
which does make me cry.
I know one day you will leave us,
but I will be left with the
memory of your smile.

BROS
Big brother who's on my right.
You're a bright spot in my life.
You wear a sporty striped shirt
I'm a Taz who loves to flirt!
Mike, so big and strong and fair.
Casey's grinning with no hair.
Two brothers so much the same,
partners in this big, tough game.
Big bro runs, plays, rides the wind.
Little bro carried in heart within.
One is hurting, trials to bear.
One is helping, 'cause he cares.
Two boys in a cool snap shot,
Different from bottom to top.
Best of friends right from the start,
One space in Momma's heart.
