I do not recall much of my childhood days. Or perhaps I do remember them but they are not worth memorable! For this reason, let my infancy remain an elapsed, bygone past. For the records, I did my schooling in a small town called Marthandam in southern Tamil Nadu, India. Candidly, I do not know if the emperor Marthanda Verma is from this town. Never mind...There used to be a cinema theatre by name Devi. This is the only theatre that I can remember of, which had pillars inside! You should be contented with what reaches you through the pillars! |

I graduated from University College, Trivandrum, Kerala in Geology major. Even though Physics used to be my aspirational field of study, I changed to Geology for grounds that still remain a mystery to me! It was during my undergraduate days that I got captivated to parallel Malayalam movies. I started to value the masterpieces of Padmarajan, George, Adoor, Aravindan, Lenin, Mohan et.al. Then I joined IIT, Bombay for M.S in Applied Geology. While this was a two year program, I got mesmerized by the IIT magic and dwelled here for six long years doing M.Tech and afterward becoming a Research Associate! I learned lot of Psychology, Computer Programming and modest amount of Geology during these days. My educational credentials and favorable planetary positions at that time, got me a job in Intergraph India Ltd., Hyderabad. This was the incubator, which helped me to become a full time Software professional, which I am now. |

| It
was in Hyderabad that I got to know Kavitha, who was working for Satyam
Computers then. Believe it or not we met each other over the
internet! That was a time when internet used to be a buzz word in India.
Ours was no cyber space chat room love. It was the result of congregation
of two like minded, matured individuals with the intention of matrimony.
She is a Post Graduate in Computer Applications from Osmania University. I like the
down to earth persona within her. She
has tremendous will power and an enormous amount of determination. Most of
the time her straight forwardness is mistaken by many for arrogance. She
is so frank that she gets into hard times in this shrewd world, very
often. |

| We got married on June 2, 1997 in Hyderabad. The wedding ceremony was an amalgamation of Kerala and Andhra ethnicity with the later predominating. I was very excited about the whole thing. Tying the mangal sutra, walking around the holy fire, exchanging the garlands, putting rice on the head, seek out for the rings inside a pot of water, kashi yatra, looking for the arundhadi nakshatra...you name it we did it all! It was like performing in a stage show in front of a packed house of spectators. |

To top it all, the videographer made me toss a rose flower the way Rajnikanth does in the movie Arunachalam! Poor guy wasn't pleased with the outcome of the shot. I wish him all success in his search for a super star... | |||

Like many other software professionals, we made up our mind to pursue our career in the
United States. Often we feel
nostalgic about our Hyderabadi life. The bhel puri of Tank Bund, the chaat
bhanders, pav bhajis, chicken biriyani, long bike rides...to name but a few of
them.
We currently live in Devon, PA. Far from the maddening crowd, it's a beautiful place with all the subtleness of a suburban town. Both of us are working as software engineers. We have a son, Varun. He was born on August 18, 2000. He is the main source of amusement, inspiration, perspiration and insomnia for us now. When he chuckles, we laugh with him forgetting the whole lot. When he naps, we try to sleep. When he cries, we run as if a project deadline has arrived! Nothing that he does is trivial to us, for he is no silly man! © 2000 Planet Pravita |
