Niagra Falls
If you are from India and live on the Eastern coast of the U.S, you must have definitely seen this natural wonder. The mammoth water falls of the Niagra is worth a visit. You can enjoy a soaking boat ride, IMAX theatre, wind tunnel etc. An ideal summer vacation spot. But if you are a loner and want to stay away from the maddening crowd, avoid the long week ends, especially the Labor Day week end.

For the earth watchers, this place is a paradise. A small town on the banks of the Wisconsin river this place is a geological beauty. One can enjoy the cruise by seeing the unique slate cliffs and other rock formations. There are the so called "ducks" which run both on the land and water. Hence the name. These are world war II tanks now used for recreational purpose. There are lot of theme parks, water parks if you like that type of enjoyment. To my knowledge, the main attraction here is the aquarium which hosts the dolphin show. The dolphin show was not very impressive. But the aquarium is mind blowing. Kids can gather lot of information on marine, fresh water echo systems, flora and fauna etc. There are two hindu temples in the vicinity. One is the Maha Vishnu temple near Lanham and the Murugan temple. The Goddard Space Center of NASA is very close to these temples. Baltimore is only miles away from Washington. If you plan accordingly, you can enjoy both the places in a single trip.

Smokey Mountain
I do not know how it got the name. Don't expect to see any volcanos. Not even a dormant one! You should go during the end of autumn when the leaves start changing colour. It's a real treat for the eyes. But if you go during this season, be prepared for a long drive. The bumper to bumper starts before Pigeo Forge and goes all the way to the top of the mountain. There are lot of theme parks and fun activities too. But honestly, I have seen much better hill stations in India.

As the name implies, this is a small town on the Atlantic coast. If not for the east coast, at least for the Delaware valley this is the Las Vegas. You got the picture, right? There are many casinos to blow your hard earned money! It has become customary for us to take anyone who visits us to this place as it is only 75 miles drive on I-76 east from where we live. After sleepless nights of gambling, you come out wondering, "Who wants to be a millionaire?!"
