SEPULUH NOPEMBER INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
At November 10th 1957, the first President Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ir. Soekarno has established Sepuluh November Engineering Foundation in Morokrembangan Airport Surabaya. Based on Goverment Rule No. 9 Year 1961, the Foundation was being public with name Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS).
When the established, Sepuluh November Engineering Foundation only has 2 Faculty, they are Civil Engineering Faculty (FTS) and Mechanical Engineering Faculty (FTM). After being public, ITS has 3 new Faculty they are Electrical Engineering Faculty (FTE), Chemical Engineering Faculty (FTK) and Ship Engineering Faculty (FTP).
With Education and Culture Minister Decided No 72 Year 1965, ITS added 2 Faculty again, they are Architecture Engineering Faculty (FTA) and Pure Science and Natural Science Faculty (FIPIA).
Electrical Engineering Department, Industrial Faculty of Technology trasform from Electrical Engineering Faculty ITS, as the result of organization restructurisation of ITS, it's same with President Decision No 58 Year 1982. The action is done with Education and Culture Minister Decison No 0144/O/1983, that explaining if Indiustrial Faculty of Technology (FTI) was joined from Mechanical Engineering Faculty, Electrical Engineering Faculty, Chemical Engineering Faculty, Physic Engineering from FIPIA, and FTI was from Mechanical Engineering Department, Electrical Engineering Department, Chemical Engineering Department, Physic Engineering Department, Industrial Engineering Department, Computer Engineering Department.
In Electrical Engineering Department of ITS, there is 5 divisions, they are Power System Engineering Division, Telecommunication Multimedia Engineering Division, Electronical Engineering Division, Control System Engineering Division and Computer Engineering Division. In Magister Degree, there is 4 division, they are Power System Engineering Division, Telecommunication Multimedia Engineering Division, Control System Engineering Division and Informatical Engineering Division.
