My Dad

Come sit upon my knee
Daddy loves you, you are
so special to me

His big arms would hold
me tight
I would squeeze him back
with all my might

Full of love and compassion
for his little ones sweet
He worked so hard to provide
the necessary things and
special treats

Sitting in the moonlight
singing songs as he strummed
the guitar
Singing, "the rabbit has no
tail at all, but a little
bunch of hair

Riding the motorcycle as the
wind gracefully blew my curls
blonde
He showed us how to live fully
and trust in God

Summertime brought fishing,
picnics, visits to the park
Picking blackberries, weeding
the garden from sun up til dark

As we grew older we knew he
was proud as could be
Of his four daughters, my
three sisters and me

These memories I have cherished
through the years
As I think of Father's Day and
my Dad so dear!
