Dance of the Old

Bull Frog

Frogs a dancing in the midnight
air,
happy and free, they haven't a
care
They hop from lily pad to lily
pad as they dance around the
lake,
singing their song and keeping
me awake.
It's a song without words but
has a deep rhythmic beat,
and to them I'm sure it must
sound neat.
I think it's a courting song
that they sing, looking for
a lady frog with whom to
have a fling.
Down on the lake by that
old holler log, that's
where it's at,
The Dance of the Old
Bull Frog.

A Boy's Treasure

A crawfish, lizard, or old warty toad,
Or a snapping turtle found along
side the road...
These things are of special interest
to growing boys;
Often taking place of man-made toys.

With a bucket of fishing worms and
a smile on his face,
He's off to his favorite fishin' place!
He's hoping to catch a big fish or two,
If not...well...a big UGLY
bullfrog will do.

A slimy little snake found under an
old log...
A fuzzy little bunny, squirrel, or
fat groundhog...
These things, to a boy, are his
special treasure
Which will bring him many long
hours of pleasure!
