Family, friends, neighbors, ANYONE out there
Come let me tell you about...
LadyBug Despair!!!
The autumn air brings with it an unusual affair,
Simply stated, I call it.."LadyBug Despair!"
It's an annual convention, a special.. "Ladies"
occasion..
A gathering of all ladybugs from across the..
ENTIRE nation!
Little spotted ladies suddenly making their
appearance from out of "NO WHERE"
I have to say I do wish they would stay
"OUT THERE!"
Now, if you've never had the misfortune
of witnessing this unusual congregation..
You might think it is a figment of my
imagination!
I'm telling you this phenomenon is real
as real can be..
Just come to Virginia in the fall and
these "spotted ladies" you're sure to see!
Thousands upon thousands...tiny red & black
flying things trying to get inside!
Yikes!! They're everywhere you look, and
there's NO place to hide!
All day long this congregating takes
place
'til on ceiling or wall, there's barely
an empty space!
Tiny little wings beating the still air
Bug legs getting tangled up in my hair!
Then through the night they tap-dance
upon the windowpane
There's the impending expectancy
of being driven insane!
One thing's for certain...
I'll keep looking for a way
to end this annual affair...
This convention I call..
"LadyBug Despair!"

This was written while living in Virginia
and was a yearly occurrence in the county
in which we lived.
