Another Time..Another Place
Clouds were around me so thick and gray
Tears were falling to the ground like
For someone dear to me had just passed away.
She was gone without warning, no chance
to say goodbye.
My heart was left with a heaviness like
those clouds in the sky.
the rain
My spirit was broken and I was filled
with pain.
I wondered if angels were mourning also
from Heaven's gate above
Did they sense my loss, feel the pain
that I felt for this one I loved?
Memories came flooding over me
like waves of the sea
Bringing back the moments held so
dear to me.
The selfish desire of clinging to
this loved one was growing strong
Somehow her sudden death felt oh
so very wrong.
Then a familiar voice spoke to
this stubborn heart of mine.
"She's gone for a rest now but
to her it will only be a short
time."
"You all are but pilgrims in a
strange land, just passing thru
knowing not when death shall
come to make its claim on you."
"So now my mournful child weep if
you must
Then let yourself be comforted
through heavenly trust."
"For it is your Heavenly Father
who sees you through such sorrows
And gives you the assurance of a
brighter tomorrow."
Years have come and gone
I miss your presence still
Memories of you linger
I know they always will.
But with God's promises I
have been gifted
Causing life's never-ending
sorrows to be lifted.
For us Dear Sister, there shall
be another place and time
Where everything will be
beautiful; everything so fine.
So for now rest on in peace
until that day when...
In our heavenly home we shall
be together once again.
