Here's what my henna looked like ....
Tony and I, with my sister and a few of my cousins ...
together for the last time ... before the wedding!
My maternal uncle and his wife blessed me with the traditional red wedding bangles
My sister, along with all the other women, took great pleasure in the "Haldi" ceremony
The sandalwood, turmeric and rose water paste is supposed to make a bride glow on her wedding day ....
With my mom ... and my newly acquired mom :-)
Tony gets his 'sehra' and arrives with his 'baraat' .....
We see each other :-) ...exchange garlands ...
and then get pictures with friends and family
The wedding ceremony begins ... daddy hands over my thumb to Tony (gives me away) ....
And we offer rice to the gods ... and walk around the ceremonial fire ... We're married !!
I laugh as I say goodbye to the family in the ceremonial 'bidai' ....
And we happily arrive .... at the Reception :-)
with both sets of parents ....!!
