6:30-9:30pm Liberating Presence: Being and Receiving Christ
in Human Relationships.
Presenter: Doug Frank. The seminar will explore how the freedom to be present
grows out of a particular understanding of the life and death of Jesus. We will
try to understand why liberating presence is so difficult to achieve, and how
we might learn to practice it more effectively. If you are a parent, pastor,
teacher, advocate, activist, or someone who simply desires more authentic, quality
encounters with others
please join us for an evening of ideas, dialogue
and discussion!

into Biblical texts and life stories
Presenter: Doug Frank. Finding insight into Biblical texts and life stories.
The key to an effective Bible Study, group discussion or one-on-one counseling
experience is knowing how to ask the right questions. Biblical texts and peoples
life stories can come alive when approached with honest, insightful and creative
questions. We will explore ways to grow in our ability to ask questions of people
and of a text, whether for our own personal study or in the context of group
discussion and Bible study.
