Where's Bilou from?

The Birth...

In the middle of year 1994, The two brothers Piet & Pype met a guy name Pierrick, musician and coder on a CPC-64. Pierrick had made a huge amount of small games (labyrinth) starring a blue ball with eyes and feets called bubble

A few weeks later, Pype tried to code such a game (with a bubble-like character) on it's PC, when Pierrick came back. Because he called Pype "Bilou" the whole afternoon, Pype choose that name for the Basic file he was saving.
Two days later, Bilou became the name of the Blue bublle.

Growing Up...

The second step occurs near november '94 when Piet drew the first ever page full of Bilou, with baddies, etc. for a game called "Bubble Adventure". Bilou got ARMS and HANDS. We decided to forget about arms or leg, but kept hands. The feets became green and the hands Ceylan.

With "Bilou's Adventure", a lot of world have been drawned and thought such as the Forest (with walking apples, jumping mushrooms...), The school (math course was really hard for Piet&Pierrick), the castle, etc.

During "Bilou's Quest", Pype & PCJulius worked a lot on Bilou's mind: how would Bilou speak, think, what kind of stuff he likes, is afraid of, etc. They've also drawn a ton of tiny gags starring Bilou.

And Now ?

Despite i'm a student at university, you'll still find Bilou on my notes. Working on baddies (like the Blob, or Grungee) or on second characters like the Tree, Papy Mushroom, Chamignome, etc. I'm going deeper in relationships between those characters, trying to make Bilou a crossing-over between Mario and Zelda.

Bilou's Book!

Aaargh! That's too hard stopping! I've started the "Bilou-book" , a comic-strip relating Bilou and Bouli' adventure.
