For the third
time Pilate spoke to them: "Why? What crime has this man committed? I
have found in him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore I will have
him punished and then release him."
But with loud
shouts they insistently demanded that He be crucified, and their shouts
prevailed.
Jesus
submitted to this terrible humiliation to make reparation for our pride.
Ah, it was because of His mysterious love for us that we cannot
understand, that we can't comprehend. He would do it for you, He would do
it for me.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
Blessed are thou among
women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus crowned
with thorns.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
