When Pontius
Pilate asked the people of Jerusalem whom they want freed -- Jesus of
Nazareth or Barabbas, a thief and a murderer -- the people cried out for
Barabbas. Just
as He died in Barabbas' place, Jesus also died in our place.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
Blessed are thou among
women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus scourged.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
