The shepherds
came to the
stable to pay homage. The Christ child was the source of light that
illuminated the darkness surrounding Him in the manger. He is the light of
the world. The faces of Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds crowded around
were
all lit from this source, though darkness surrounded them.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
Blessed are thou among
women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus, born in poverty.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
