The disciples
left the mountain to "return to Jerusalem with great joy."
There, they remained, praising and giving thanks to God, and praying for
the coming of the Holy Spirit. This
joy experienced by the disciples was greater than the one they had in
Jesus' presence while He walked the earth. It was a profound and
abiding joy that put
them to worship continually and to preach the gospel everywhere, without any
fear. For those of us who have not seen and yet have
come to believe, there is an even greater joy and happiness (Jn.20:28).

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
Blessed are thou among
women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus who
ascended into Heaven.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
