prologue thinking back
"okay, endex now." these three words marked the end of a very significant chapter of our lives. we still had to wait for the tonners to arrive in the midst of the sweltering heat, but its over. atec has ended! finally!

we did the missions in high spirit and won back best company award, having achieved redcon 2a, marginally above the other companies with 2b. this damn atec month has been... challenging, starting with navex and all the battle courses before battalion exercise where we climbed .532 and encountered a landslide that nearly cost our lives at ramrod objective. then atec. in the process, every step was steady, yes, but slow, and tough, the ascending slope seemed endless, h-hour and fup were always "reaching, very near ah" but ever out of reach. time froze when i stood half awake at 3am beside sir while the sky rained relentlessly. frustration builds up whenever i see everyone else grabbing some fraction of sleep but dissipates when i realise "lan lan" had to do my part and man the signal set. occasionally i would drift into a sub- conscious state, about to ascend to dreamland before i was shaken back to reality...

everyone rejoiced in sheer jubilation as the tonners arrive and well, i am sure every single one of us out there at scotland 2 were on ultimate high. atec has always been very distant as we step into ait and proceeding on to all our numerous exercises and events over the year. all of a sudden atec loomed around the corner and soon we were tearing across the river bed away from the enemy mg. page 2 home
