| Chapter 2: The Old And The New A while later, after mingling with everyone, Will found his wife, chatting to Maria Wells and Todd Wilkins. "So, Mr Harrington is due to come in at 10 on Monday" Elizabeth told them. "Don't worry Liz, I'll make sure the summary is ready" Maria promised. Elizabeth smiled. She felt familiar strong arms wrap around her waist. "Hi, having fun?" Will said, softly. He brushed her neck with a kiss. "Yes, you?" Elizabeth asked, staring into his eyes. "Yeah, but I missed you" Will said, tenderly. They kissed quickly. Something hard hit the back of Will's head. He turned around to see Melissa glaring at him. Elizabeth saw this and picked up the cup. She placed it in the bin beside the table. "C'mon honey, let's dance" Elizabeth suggested. She took his hand in hers tightly. Will nodded and led her through the crowd to the dancefloor. Will held Elizabeth close to him, they swayed slowly, staring lovingly into each other's eyes. "Liz, I love you" Will said, close to her ear. His breath was warm. Elizabeth tingled with delight. "I love you too" Elizabeth answered "Happy Anniversary" "Happy Anniversary" Will echoed, drawing her tightly against him, he bent his head and pressed his lips to hers in a passionate kiss right in the middle of the dancefloor. Todd sat down on the bench, unsure of what to do with himself since he didn't have a date. His eyes wandered around the room until they came to rest on Melissa Fox, looking hot in her little red dress. She sashayed towards him and sat down beside him. "Hey there Lover" Melissa purred "Feeling a bit lonely?". Todd couldn't take his eyes off her, she was gorgeous. "Not anymore" Todd said, huskily. Todd wrapped an arm around her back, pulling her closer. Todd and Melissa had been secretly involved with each other for the last two weeks. "Liss, I was thinking it's time we came out in the open" Todd exclaimed, he kissed her lingeringly before she could respond. Elizabeth was content, dancing in her husband's arms when she glimpsed out of the corner of her eye, Todd making out with Melissa Fox. Elizabeth suddenly realised why Todd had been leaving work early for the last two weeks. He'd been seeing Melissa Fox. Elizabeth buried her face in Will's shoulder, swaying with him. Will held his wife close, breathing in her peach-blossomy sweet scent. It was uniquely Elizabeth's scent. Will glanced around the room, stopping on a sight that surprised him. He saw Melissa making out with Todd Wilkins. "I guess that's his revenge on me" Will thought. "I married his ex-girlfriend, now he's hooking up with mine". Will smiled wryly. He still had the most beautiful woman in the room and nothing could change that. Will would always love Elizabeth, his heart was hers forever. Maria Wells was on the floor of the cubicle in the Ladies toilets, feeling nauseous. She was four months pregnant with her and Matt's first child. She was about to faint, clutching the toilet bowl tightly. Everything turned black. |
