| Chapter 6: The Riot Josh and Elizabeth walked into the Riot, hand in hand. The music was pumping and the room was packed. Josh saw Will waving them over. Josh rested a hand on Elizabeth's back and guided her over to the group. Todd smiled at Elizabeth when they approached. "Hey Liz, Josh" Todd exclaimed, loudly over the music. "Todd" Josh said, evenly. Elizabeth smiled back at Todd. A slow song came on so Josh asked Elizabeth to dance. "I'd love to" she accepted, shyly. Josh led her to the dancefloor, taking her in his arms and they swayed together to the beat. Will went over to the bar to get himself a drink, watching Josh and Elizabeth dancing. He sighed. He wanted something more than just friendship with Elizabeth. Josh caught his eye and winked at him. Will diverted his gaze to rest on Melissa and Ken, kissing on the dancefloor. Will's eyes smouldered over. That guy just didn't quit flaunting his relationship with Melissa in front of Will. Will tipped the rest of his coke down his throat and slammed it down on the counter. While Elizabeth was dancing with Josh, she noticed that Will was looking upset. Elizabeth saw Melissa and Ken together and understood why. Josh looked down at her, his gaze so intense that Elizabeth was mesmorised by it. He slowly bent his head and kissed her lingeringly. Elizabeth gazed up at him, shyly after they pilled away. "Come upstairs with me" Josh whispered, pressing a kiss on her ear. Elizabeth nodded, quickly. Josh led her upstairs to the lounge area. Maria left Tia and Andy debating the difference between techno and dance music. She went to the bar to grab a coke. Maria saw Will standing there. "Hi Will" Maria said, faking a cheerful tone. "Hey Maria" Will answered with equal enthusiasm. "I guess you saw them too" Maria exclaimed, gesturing to Ken and Melissa. "Yeah, I did" Will said, looking at the floor. "Will, the secret is not letting them see it's getting to you" Maria advised him. She patted his shoulder gently. "I'll try that, thanks Maria" Will replied, attempting a smile. "That's the spirit, I'll see you later" Maria picked up her coke and went back to where Tia and Andy were sitting. Will picked up his crutches and went back to join Todd, Aaron and the rest of the guys. A while later, Josh and Elizabeth came back downstairs and re-joined the group. "Hey Rad, you're back" Matt exclaimed, clapping him on the shoulder "Where were you?". Josh exchanged a look with Elizabeth, grinning at her. "Oh, we went outside to get some fresh air, Liz was feeling a bit stifled" Josh explained. Elizabeth nodded, looking down a bit, pretending to be embarrassed. "I'm glad you're okay, Liz" Todd said, affectionately. Elizabeth smiled. "Thank you" Elizabeth replied "I'm fine now" "C'mon Liz, let's dance" Josh exclaimed, leading her back onto the dancefloor. Their secret was safe, at least until tomorrow. |
