| However, Harry still felt alive. Was he dead or did the curse not work? He could feel himself breathing, but all he could see was pure white. Suddenly, Voldemort started to poke him in the shoulder. Wake up Harry, we have to go! he hissed. Harry suddenly felt himself free to move. He jumped and hit Voldemorts hand away from him. Ow! Whats wrong with you? came Hermiones voice suddenly. Harry blinked and saw that he was still sitting outside the Divination classroom. He rubbed his forehead and looked at his arm. It wasnt broken. Harry looked at Hermione, who was standing in front of him. She had a startled look on her face. Harry stood up, still rubbing his forehead. Sorry Hermione, I was having another nightmare, he said apologetically. Oh, really? Hermione said, her tone changing from anger to concern. What did you dream about? she asked as they began to walk to lunch. Harry told her about Mrs. Figg and Snape bringing him to the Dark Forest where Voldemort tried to kill him. Do you think its a premonition? Hermione asked him, a distraught look on her face. I dont know, it might be, Harry said nervously. I really hope not, Hermione said quietly. Harry felt her hand close around his. I dont know what Id do if something happened to you, she said, holding back tears. Dont worry, Hermione, nothings going to happen, Harry said, kissing her lightly on the forehead. Harry wished that were true. He was almost positive something was going to happen this year, he just wished he knew what it was. When Harry walked into Defense Against The Dark Arts, he saw a large black dog lying next to Mrs. Figgs desk. He reached down to pet him. Sirius? he whispered. The dog nodded slightly and rested his head on his paws. Harry patted Sirius on the head and went to go sit down next to Hermione. Sirius is here, Harry told her quietly. I know, Hermione answered. I saw him when I came in. Ron walked through the entrance to the classroom and sat far away from Harry again. Dyou think you can talk to him for me? Harry asked Hermione. I guess, Hermione sighed. Her attention was drawn towards the front of the classroom. Hey, she whispered, Look who just walked in. Harry saw Mrs. Figg sit down at her desk, and a cold shiver ran down his spine. It was uncanny how realistic she looked in his dream. He remembered how creepy she looked when she was placing the Involito curse on him. He looked at her now, and noticed that she was staring at him. Startled, he looked over at Sirius, who now had a large crowd of girls standing around him and petting him. Mrs. Figg stood up and shooed them all to their seats. As soon as all the students were seated, Mrs. Figg began to speak. I wanted to inform you that my sister has asked me to watch her dog while she is on vacation with her husband, so this is why I have him in our classroom. Hes very friendly, but please dont let him distract you from your work. Also, dont worry if you see him in the hallways, because he likes to explore the school from time to time. I guess now we can see shes good at lying, Harry mumbled to Hermione, who nodded in response. Anyway, back to the class, Mrs. Figg said. Today I am going to teach you the Fractum Vinculum incantation. Using this will break any spell that is binding someone together. For instance, if someone is under a spell that has their hands tied together, simply aim your wand at their hands and say Fractum Vinculum and the binds should break. Simple enough? The class murmured in agreement. Ok, would someone like to volunteer? Mrs. Figg asked. No one raised their hands. Alright then Ill pick someone. Mr. Potter would you come up here please? Harry reluctantly got up and walked up to the front of the class. Now, started Mrs. Figg, Im going to place the Conexio spell on Harrys legs. The Conexio is used to bind one thing to another. When I point my wand at Harrys legs and say Conexio, they will be instantly bound together with a sort of magic cord that can only be broken by the Fractum Vinculum spell. Observe. Mrs. Figg pointed her wand at Harrys ankles. Harrys heart started beating rapidly as images from his nightmare resurfaced.Conexio! Mrs. Figg said, and a long, purple cord shot out of her wand and wrapped itself tightly around Harrys ankles. As soon as Harry tried to move, he lost his balance and fell over. The class started to crack up and Harrys face turned red with embarrassment. Come on, Harry Mrs. Figg encouraged him, Use the spell! Harry pulled out his wand from his robes and aimed it at his ankles. Fractum Vinculum! he yelled. The purple cord unwrapped and sucked into Harrys wand. Excellent, Harry. You may take your seat now, Mrs. Figg said. Harry got up and brushed off his robes, before walking back to his seat. Now I want you to all practice with your partners, Mrs. Figg said. Have one person place the Conexio spell on the other so they can practice using the Fractum Vinculum spell. You may begin. The students all began practicing their spells. Harry turned and faced Hermione. I guess Ill go first, he said. Alright, Hermione agreed. He pointed his wand at her arm, which was resting on the back of her chair. Conexio! Harry exclaimed. A green rope shot out of his wand and wrapped around the top of the chair and her arm. She winced slightly. Did I hurt you? Harry asked worriedly. No, Im fine the cord is just tighter than I thought it would be, Hermione reassured him. She pointed her wand at her arm. Fractum Vinculum! she said, and the cord was sucked into the tip of her wand. |
