| Well, it's almost here; the day we have all been waiting for. Tomorrow, Potterhead around the globe will gather at bookstores here, there, and everywhere (sory, the Beatles refrence was too good for me to pass up) in eager anticipation of book 6. Friday's , as I like to call it, PAR-TAY AT THE BN! will be a night full or friends, fun, games, and the self-satisfaction tht one can only obtain by ruthlessly beating a 7-year old at Harry Potter trivia. Midnight release parties are sometimes more exciting than the release of the book itsself. It's such an atmosphere of family, except when you are insulting Hilary Clinton while flipping though her bok looking for dirt on Monica and a woman tell you she'll put the book up for you since she happens to like Ms. Clinton, eh-hem...Anyway, the atmosphere at release parties is sensational. Starbucks serving butterberr, kids making wands, getting your picture taken next to a standee of Harry. It's such an amazing expirience, although, I have only been to one, but tomorrow will mark my second. So, what are my plans for this historic event you ask? Since our site is so small, I do not have the privilage of meeting JKR in Scottland (nooooo jealousy towards Melissa of TLC or Emerson of Mugglenet, j/k!). Today, I finished my reread of OoP. I'm trying to find a good, comfortable reading spot, stocking my room with food and drink so I only need leave for dinner and to use the loo, and, of course, writing this collumn for you all to enjoy! Tomorrow I will watch all three films in a row, reread Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, go over my exstensive notes for books 1-5, and then get a ride from our lovely graphics designer to the Midnight Magis party at Barnes & Noble! I will, shamlessly, hand out flyers with our site's name and URL on them (as I did last time) and take oodles pictures of the event for you to feast your eyes upon. Then, it's home for me, to Border's for Jordan to get her HBP (evil she is, hehe). When I awake Saturday morning, I fully intend to go outside, probably in pijamas, and wait for the mailman to come so I can viciously molest him for my book, hehe, and read it until the horrible Hogwarts Headache overcomes me. Now, more than ever, it feels like this is it. Like we're in the last throwes of thins wonderful thing we call HP. I know that I will welcome the release of book 7 with both joy and tears. The end of this grand chapter of our lives is upon us....so let's make it count! |
