This edition of The Pensieve will focus onthe first question, who will live and who will die. Let's tackle each person in the order Scholastic does:
Harry Potter: Coming from my backround in AP English, Harry has to die. In mythology and nearly all hero tails, the hero sacrifices himself for the common good. Do I want Harry to die, NO! He has led a horrible life, with nearly everyone he loves dieing left and right. I would love for him to become an auror, settle down with Ginny, and have a nice little family. However, I believe Harry will, and must, die.
Voldemort: honestly, is there any question? Voldie will and must die. Jo has said that this book is very moral, thus good wins out, and the bad guy goes down!
Snape: Snape will die. He will finally redeem himself and save Harry, allowing him to take down Voldie. How he will do this, I do not know. However, I believe Snape will be pushing up daisies by the end of DH.
Ginny: Ginny will live. Whether it will be into old age with Harry by her side remains to be seen.
Ron/Hermione: This is a bit tricky. I have a feeling Ron might go. However, my overall gut reaction is that they will both survive, and have a son named Harry!
Neville: Neville will live. He will defeat Bellatrix, thereby avenging his parents. He will then teach herbology at Hogwarts.
Hagrid: I believe Hagrid will live. I feel that he brings a bit of levity to the story, and that will see him through. Some argue that, since he is Harry's last krutch, that he ahs to bite the dust. But I see him living.
Draco Malfoy: I think Draco will die. Whether it is by Voldemort's hand, a death eaters, or of his own accord, I do not know.
The Others: Either Tonks or Lupin will die. While I adore them both and would love for them to end up happy and together, the odds are just too great. One of them will go. I believe that, except for my uncertainty about Ron, all of the Weasley's will make it. However, Dudley, after a vicious encounter with the usually-tame giant squid, will not be in the final pages! hehe
