I spent 2 years studying sculpture in LSAD. I failed second year and didn’t repeat, deciding instead to work and travel. However its hard to walk away from the things you love so in June of 2003 I quit my job to make art on a full time basis.
2003/04 was my first year working as a full time artist. I had my first solo show in July ’04 in a purpose built
"con-temporary art gallery” made up of four renovated transport containers. It took place in the Ennis Rail Station.

I spent the last year (July ‘04 to June ’05) traveling in South East Aisa, South America, New Zealand and working in Australia. I used this time to work on my drawing, carving and painting techniques as well as exposing myself to various influences in fine Art and Design. I took the opportunity to engage in street art in Sydney and also show paintings and carvings in local markets.

At present I am working on one series of oil paintings on carved wood. Looking at moments of respite, moments taken alone to think. Portraying the figure in pastoral and urban environments.
I am also using mixed media to cross boundaries between disciplines i.e. painted canvas arranged with woodcuts and stone carvings in a graphic style. Subject matter for these pieces, at present, explores star cycles and transfers of energy.

Life size to larger figurative pieces, primarily in wood and steel, are other areas in which I like to work.
