I personally recommend this tool to use in order to develop a web site. Macromedia Dreamweaver MX is a professional HTML editor for designing, coding, and developing websites, web pages, and web applications. Whether you enjoy the control of hand-coding HTML or prefer to work in a visual editing environment, Dreamweaver provides you with helpful tools to enhance your web creation experience.
The visual editing features in Dreamweaver let you quickly create pages without writing a line of code. If you prefer to code by hand, however, Dreamweaver also includes many coding-related tools and features. And Dreamweaver helps you to build dynamic database-backed web applications using server languages such as ASP, ASP.NET, ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML), JSP, and PHP.
The work of dream weaver never stops here; you can extend it according to your suitability by managing the pre build extensions. For my project I downloaded more than 70 prebuild extensions and they really helped me a lot to develop this website quickly and rapidly.
The Extending Dreamweaver help system provides information on the Dreamweaver Document Object Model and the APIs (application programming interfaces) that allow JavaScript and C developers to create extensions for Dreamweaver.
To download and install new behaviors from the Exchange site:
1. Open the Behaviors panel and choose Get More Behaviors from the Actions (+) pop-up menu.

Create an image map
An image map is an image that serves as a navigation device. With an image map, you can create multiple hotspots (clickable areas) in a single image and have each hotspot link to a different URL or file to open. You can also set where a linked document opens; for example you can open the document in a particular frame of a frameset document, or open it in a new browser window. Dreamweaver does not alter references to server-side image maps in existing documents; you can use both client-side image maps and server-side image maps in the same document. However, browsers that support both types of image maps give priority to client-side image maps. To include a server-side image map in a document, you must write the appropriate HTML code.

Another useful aspect of dreamweaver MX is its library system. You can build your own library according to your own suits. It will really help you to manage your web pages with just one click. Suppose you have developed a website of more than 100 pages and some information is common in all the pages and due to some reason you would like to change this information. Just imagine how difficult job it will be to manually operate each and every page. Thanks to the library system of dreamweaver. It is really helped me to manage these problems by clicking a single button.

Really I can not explain the full feature of dreamweaver in short here, but one thing I would like to enlight here that if you choose to make your website by using dreamweaver a basic knowledge is not sufficient instead you must have command over all the features of dreamweaver.

Besides the Dreamweaver MX as HTML editor I also used some other powerful editors as WebEditor 6.0, Allarie Homesite 4.5. due to short of time I can not explain these things over here.

This is really a very fantastic tool which has helped me a lot to generate HTML code of whatever the content I provided to this.
Whether you want to create fancy buttons for your web pages or want to create an Image Map it will give the full flexibility to develop this.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0:

I used this tool as image editing. I personally recommend this tool over adobe Photoshop because of its more user friendliness as well as it takes less memory than Adobe Photoshop.

Ulead PhotoImpact XL:

It is really a powerful tool for editing an image as well as generating HTML. The most interesting thing of this tool is that it comes with lots of resources (whether it is a button, icon, image, bullets, navigation bar etc.)
By using this tool you can create your own animation image (.gif) or you can develop a simple but effective Flash movie (.swf) without having any prior knowledge of Flash.

Anfy Java:
This tool will help you to create your own Java Applets with in a few seconds.
