| Season six presents perhaps the biggest changes between seasons since season two came about. The gang changed schools, leaving John Adam's High and becoming students at Pennbrook University. They lost their hangout as Chubbie's, but relocated to Pennbrook's student union (it even had a pool table, just like Chubbie's!). Not only this, the show gained another regular in the form of Rachel McGuire, a roommate for Eric and Jack. Rachel not only provided another female perspective, but created a love triangle between her and her two roommates that served as their arc. Shawn and Angela broke up (In "Ain't College Great"). Although they never official reconsiled in season six, it was hinted as several times. But Shawn and Angela soon uncover that they still have feelings for one another (in "Friendly Persuasion"), but are both too chicken to admit it to the other. Shawn often resorts to poetry to hide his desire (in "Poetic License: And Ode to Holden Caulfield") and they make out several times (in "Santa's Little Helpers" and "The Truth About Honesty"), so they obviously still got the passion, but whatever, they're broke up. This season represents the most stable year for our beloved Cory and Pangers. They don't break up! Not once! And no one moves! They may not get married, as promised, but they get engaged. There are bumps in the road, as usual, but nothing even close to serious, especially for them. Finally, the adults get a little recognition. Amy and Alan have a baby son, Joshua Gabriel Matthews, who survives the first days of his life in the NICU (in "Resurrection"). Also, Feeny falls in love with the dean of admissions at Pennbrook, Dean Bolander. They marry in the season finale, but in that episode the startling revalation of Topanga's parents divorce shakes Topanga, and leaves us hanging for season 7. Best Season Episodes: "The Psychotic Episode," "The Truth About Honesty," and "Everybody Loves Stuart." |
