SEASON 4
Season four was the leap season in more ways than one. Firstly, it marked the first of multiple leaps in the gang's age. But, more importantly, it set the dynamic that made the show as popular as it was. That dynamic was maintained throughout the rest of the seasons, and perhaps this season was the reason why. Cory and Topanga finally stayed together and became unnaturally strong as couple. Eric became even stupider, but made it into college nonetheless. Shawn finally got his family together, and had to face the perils of dealing with that.

Perhaps the first true test of Cory and Topanga's relationship came when Topanga's folks moved to Pittsburgh. Obviously, Topanga ultimately stayed in Philly with Cory, but this episode is, in my opinion, the most moving one of the series run. This came in the two-parter, "
A Long Walk to Pittsburgh."

Alan, also, faced the crisis that he was a grocer. He was upset because he wanted more, and ultimately (with a bit or persuasion from Amy), bought a wilderness store.

Eric, meanwhile, faced the inevitable truth that he was a townie. He was a high school graduate, but could not get into college. He got a job at his father's store (and as a security guard in one episode), but realized he needed to go to college. He was finally accepted into Pennbrook in the season finale.

Shawn got his dad back! Yay! Shawn faces the daunting challenge of reconnecting with his father, and dealing with him without his mother. That is, until the fourth episode of the season, when Shawn's mother, Virna, returns. Now there are family affairs to deal with! Such as as Thanksgiving dinner ("Turkey Day") and paying the bills ("Janitor Dad")
