The PopularFreedom government, has as expected, come down hard on five
Aust citizens involved in the most violent clashes with police after
Aust's rugby world cup win on Thursday night. Other non-law abiding
Aust citizens however were released, at the international airport, into
Aust custody with strict conditions that any return to PopularFreedom soil
would put them into the same situation as their five comrades currently
awaiting trial in a PopularFreedom high security prison.
Those released were escorted by armed forces personnel to the international airport in the Locke Harbour neighbourhood of Skyview, after their cases were heard on Friday by a judge and the state prosecutor deemed that if the Aust government would take responsibility for these individuals, they would be free to leave the nation with conditions. Apparently one of those conditions is a lifetime ban from PopularFreedom soil. 'We are only talking about 100-150 individuals', noted one correctional services employee who wished to remain anonymous. An official statement by the PopularFreedom justice department has noted that, '...the majority of those sent home were caught up in the festivities and reacted inappropriately...' ________________________________________ '...like watching Loyalty Bay soccer hooligans marching down the streets' -A Locke Harbour resident commenting on the Thursday night riots by Aust rugby fans. ________________________________________
'...like watching Loyalty Bay soccer fans marching down the streets'. The issue of the rape and deaths of 3 Aust citizens, with a fourth Aust citizen in critical condition, however is definitely a stain on the reputation of the security present at this World Cup event. The PopularFreedom justice department did note however that, '...the individuals involved in this specific act have been detained by our authorities and are awaiting trial on numerous counts. We would also like to note that unlike initial reports, the rapes and deaths did not happen during the street riots but were exclusive to one hotel where a majority of Aust fans were staying.' Local citizens decried the Thursday night events however and noted that the nation should have had more riot police on hand to control the crowd. 'You have 70,000 plus rugby nuts leaving the stadium, plus all those watching at their hotels and other places, of course you are going to have incidents, but this is ridiculous', complained one local resident. Another resident likened it to, '...like watching Loyalty Bay soccer hooligans marching down the streets'. The Prime Minister has defended the security detail at the Rugby World Cup final as 'adequate' and has noted that, 'obviously it is unfortunate that these events happened, however the riots on the street were dispersed within 10 minutes of their beginning. My concern is more with the incident at the Highview Luxury Hotel with the rape and death of 3 Aust citizens. We will be looking at hotel security being part of our security plans in future in light of this tragic event.' When questioned about what the government planned to do with the 5 Aust citizens in custody the Prime Minister refused to answer though an aide noted that, 'these citizens were in some way involved in the murder of 3 foreigners on PopularFreedom soil and as such their trials fall under our jurisdiction. We therefore plan to expedite their trials so that justice is served as quickly and promptly as possible.' |
Magna Carta National Correctional Institution is the new home of the five Aust citizens still held in PopularFreedom custody. |
