| The Continued Sypnosis of "Rumors" | ||||||||||||||||
| When the lights came back, everyone was sitting down, more relaxed. Apparently, the first two couples told the other two couples about what really happened to Charlie. Ken cracks after a few minutes and tells them everything that Lenny just told them. He tells Ken to keep scraping his plate. Cookie freaks since she lost her grandmothers earrings (ruby and pearl) and everyones crawling on the floor, looking for them. She then noticed that her earrings are in her hand. Claire wonders why all of the girls names start with C. Cookie realizes something else, all of the guys names are Ken, Len, and Glen. She realizes something else and Chriss like, let me guess, Ken, Len and Glen, are all men. No, thats not it. Cassie had been in the bathroom for a while and Glen was saying how her quartz crystals had special properties (they have to be rinsed in crystal clear water). She comes out and starts flirting with Lenny. (Hes a bit nervous, but seems to like it.) They tell Glen shes getting back at him. He tells her to stop and shes asking, What do you mean? She starts flirting with Ken, but ends up yelling in his ear. She runs outside with Glen following her. Kens hearing is back and better than it was. Chriss like, My husbands a German Shepard. Hes saying Cassie seems really upset and she smashed a BMW (Lenny cringes). His car phone was also ruined. Hes like, Oh no. Lenny says sarcastically, What? Did Cassie throw up in my car? No, Cassie punched Glen in the nose and hes bleeding. He comes back in, saying she needs some time alone. Another car pulls up and its a police car. While they talk to Cassie, they try to think of what to tell the police and how they didnt hear the gunshots. They were going to say that the loud noises were from the Hitler special and Lennys like There was no Hitler special, we made that up. They thought that the music could be why they didnt hear it. The guys think that one of them has to be Charlie in case the police ask to talk to him. The guys do the odd finger is it, to pick which one will be Charlie. Lennys a little testy and he gives one of them the finger. Lenny ends up getting picked and he disappears for a long time. They start up the music and start dancing and go on to do a conga line just as the detectives walk in (looking disgusted). Christa as Detective Welch shuts off the music. They ask them a few questions and theyre nervous about giving their names. The couples say, tell us what this is about and well tell you what we know. It turns out that they mentioned a car accident and anything they knew about the stolen red Porsche. Theyre relieved that its only about the car accident. Kens acting like Claires lawyer (she says its her husbands car) and tells her she doesnt have to answer all the questions. Theyre [the detectives] about to leave, saying theyll talk to Claire in the morning. Glen said his name, saying he was nervous to give it since he was a politician and didnt want to get mixed up something like that. Welch asks him why he was nervous if he wasnt involved. He then accidentally mentions not hearing the gunshots. That mistake starts a whole new investigation. Ken later mentions hes Lenny. They asked them to step outside before and when Ken asks them again, Welch says shes this close to a promotion and shes not letting them ruin it for her on this case. She hears them mention about their names and her name is Connie and Drew as Detective Pudney says his name is Ben. They ask about the servants and Cookie says shes been cooking and how she cant stand, sit or walk well (back spasms). Welch wonders about the dancing and she says its good for her back. They finally decide to call Charlie downstairs. Lenny has a bathrobe on with a large bandage around his head. He slowly walks downstairs, complaining about his ear hurting him. He starts the story with him and Myra, having a toast to their 10th anniversary. He rambles about how he loved someone with beautiful body, hands, etc, for 10 years and how hes still in love. He also says that Melee and the 3 servants (with Spanish names after spices, I think) are cooking in the kitchen. Later, a Spanish man comes in with a knife. Hes talking in Spanish, so Charlie didnt know that he was asking if they wanted a salad. (Lenny doesnt know Spanish very well). The couple starts panicking. Charlie gets out his revolver and it accidentally went into his earlobe. (Hes running all over the place to act this all out). The servants leave and the couple sees the first guests coming and theyre wondering what to do. Myra goes into the basement, Charlie, not knowing this, thinks the maniac is down there and locks the door. The detectives finally leave and they all cheer that they fooled the police. Lenny takes the bandage off of his head and laughs. Claire says shes falling in love with Lenny all over again. Charlie calls them, saying hes going to tell them everything that happened. Then they hear a knock on the basement door, Is anyone up there? Whos there? Its Myra! The stage then goes black, ending the show. |
