"Rumors"
When I saw the cast list for this last drama production, it included everyone I've gotten to know through the drama and musical programs as well as newcomers by the name of Drew Magathan and Aaron Ross. I knew I had to see this show. Not only have I gotten to know Zach through the drama/musical programs, I've known some of his best friends, the greatest performers I know.
Sypnosis

It starts with Elyce on stage as Chris, and Matt as Ken (hes a lawyer). They seem nervous, and Chris wants to smoke a cigarette really bad. Charlie, the host of his 10th wedding anniversary party, had shot himself in the eye lobe, his wife, Myra, was missing and the servants were gone. Chris calls Dr. Dudley out of Phantom of the Opera to ask what to do about Charlie. Ken tells her to not to tell him about the gun shoots and that he simply fell down the stairs (we drove up when we heard a huge thud). Before hanging up, he asks if theres any dizziness, if he can move his limbs, if theres any slurred speech or if theres any ringing in the ear. She says no to all of them except for the ears since it sounds suspicious. The doorbell rings a few times while Ken and Chris try to think about what to tell them.
Ken goes up to check on Charlie when the next couple arrives. Lauren as Claire comes in, just got in a car accident and she was checking her lip. A car pulled out of a garage, smashing into their brand-new BMW, and her husband was left dangling. Zach as Lenny comes in, complaining about his brand-new car being smashed in.
When Chris goes into the kitchen to get something to eat, Lenny and Claire start talking about his car. Then they go onto talking about gossip at the tennis club and about an affair Charlie might be having with Caroline Newman. She also mentions Harold Green, whos a progressive, social member who has drinks and spreads rumors; he also has something to do with BMWs. Ken comes in, saying hi to them both. Lenny asks if he heard about his new car and hes like congratulations. Chris gives Lenny a package of nuts? (I dont know whats in the package). She goes upstairs. Lennys fighting with the bags of nuts, saying his car bends so easily and the bag is made of steel. He then throws it aside, saying, Screw it when his neck goes out again.
Chris goes to Charlie since hes in a depression and needs to be consoled (as Ken told her). When they ask about Charlie and Myra, they say theyre upstairs getting dressed (at first). He asks if theyve had anything to eat and Lennys like a plastic bag. They discuss Charlie or Myra possibly having an affair. Claire says Charlies having a hot affair and Lennys like, its not hot, we dont know if its hot.  Ken then goes out and blabs the whole thing and the Ganz couple (Lenny and Claire) are freaking out. Lenny calls the doctor again about his whiplash injury. He also wants to call the police, but they convince him not to. Another couple pulls up (in a Volvo) and they agree not to tell them anything to avoid a scandal.
Katie as Cookie and Aaron as Ernie is the next couple. Cookie has her own cooking show and chronic back spasms, kinda corky too. They wonder about the help, but theyre not there, so Cookie ends up cooking, even though she wanted a night off. They keep talking about a surprise for Charlie and Myra and its for them to cook for them. During that time, Lenny is having conversations with Myra through the door (he threw his voice).
A little later, theres a gunshot. It accidentally went off in Charlies room and Ken was so close to it that hes gone deaf. Lenny goes up to find that out. Ernie and Cookie wonder why theyre all upstairs, and they eventually say its a PBS show about Hitler as a boy. They say the gunshot was either a manhole cover blowing, a can of shaving cream exploding, or popping balloon. Ernie asks if its the Goodyear Blimp. Ken goes to the door, saying he cant hear them. He knocks, asking Myra if he can come in and Lenny throws his voice through the door. Theres pasta boiling in the kitchen later on and theres broken glass. Cookies arm got glass in it and it was bleeding while Ernie burned his fingers. He rambles on about what happened and Lennys like, and he said all of that without messing up a single word.
The next couple, Glen and Cassie Cooper, arrives and ring the doorbell a few times. Claire and Chris run into the bathroom. Lenny yells from upstairs if anyone will get that and hes like, Screw it, Im starting to feel like my car. Then Ernie goes to get it, but he has trouble opening it (bandages on his hands). Glen and Cassie start to fight. Cassie complains that hes having an affair with some bimbo and he says theres no affair. She thinks hes looking at her in a strange way and she keeps complaining about that. Hes saying that hes running for Senate and shes like, State senate, were not going to Washington, were going Albany. 70s in the summer, 20s in the winter, Albany. Lenny goes to greet them and Kens still hard of hearing and hes asking, Are you talking to me? Glen says theyve seen the butler and heard about the cook. He thought Ernie was the butler.
The phone rings (forget whos on the other end), and Ken thinks its a cat meowing so hes crawling the stage, looking for a cat. Cassie ran into the bathroom and Glens knocking, telling her to come out and talk to whomever. She rushes out, saying, Who slammed on that door? The party is then thrown into a downward spiral when Lennys neck is killing him, Cassies crying over her quartz crystal that accidentally went in the toilet, Cookies back went out and Kens yelling into the phone since he cant hear and the lights go out for the end of Act 1.
