Momma cleans on number two, while number one is looking for the all important "first milk"...
which is called colostrum...it is very important that new born goats get the colostrum as quickly
as possible....preferably within the first half hour....six hours is the optimal window...at eight
hours the ability to absorb/digest the colostrum is cut nearly in half....a new born immune system is
pretty well non-existent...and the colostrum is the way that Momma passes on the "stuff" needed to fight off
disease and boost the little guy off...
