POPs is a group formed just for parents with young children. Being the parent of a preschool aged child can sometimes be as challenging as it is rewarding. Our group has been designed to create a support network for families in similar situations. Whether working full-time or part-time out of the home, or just full-time at home, we wanted parents to have a group they could count on for friendship, fellowship, or just fun.
POPs is yet evolving. We are a group of parents (both Moms and Dads are included) who sometimes meet for:
Fun - picnics at the park, potlucks, or zoo trips
Playgroups - different places, time, and days
Productivity - event planning, consignment sale, scrapbooking
Date Nights - drop off the kids at the church nursery and have an evening to yourself
Group Nights - drop off the kids at the church nursery and have fellowship with other POPs members
Any child from birh to kindergarten is considered a preschooler for our purposes, so we have a lot of variety in one group. We try to at least have some event or function each month.
POPs participants do not have to be members of the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, nor do they have to agree to a minimum number of activities. We have a web user group for communication purposes and calendar listings.
