Another House in the Woods
They looked at the sign outside the house. Fresh Pies. As soon as they finished reading the sign, they ran as fast as they could from another, possibly insane pie person.
Running for their life, they bowled over a women carrying some flour the opposite direction.
Heavens to Betsy! said the women carrying the flour the other way. Why are you running so fast in the woods? she asked angrily.
We dont know, Marcel replied quietly. She looked quite a lot like the other pie lady in Trottingham, brown hair, uneven eyes, and a pale complexion.
Come back to my hut and Ill give you a pie, on the house. They hadnt eaten in a while, so they listened to the women.
Marcel and the flonkers tried their best to prevent any conversation on the way back to the hut, but to no avail. She just talked too much. The hut looked exactly the same as the other pie ladys house. It was shaped like a pie, with a straw roof, as well as a huge assortment of flowers out front.
Marcel and the flonkers walked into the house. There were stacked pies lining the wall, as the other house had.
A Familiar Voice
Is that you, Marge? asked a voice from the other room. The other woman came into the room and saw Marcel and the flonkers.
It was the pie lady! Her hair was still singed from their last meeting at her house in Trottingham.
You! she screamed. She went and snatched a pie from the huge pile, and hurled it towards Marcels head.
It hit Marcel in the head with a Splut! He wiped the pie filling away while fleeing the house of the pie ladys sister, the flonkers not far behind.
Deja vu, Marcel commented.
HONK! HONK! HONK! Said a flonker, which meant, Weve seen weirder. They all agreed with a synchronized HONK! once again.
It was beginning to seem that they were walking in circles. All the scenery in Prancingpork seemed the same as the scenery in Trottingham. Hopefully the scenery would change in Gallopingbacon, which was not far away.
Look. This scenery is getting boring. Lets run as fast as we can to get to Gallopingbacon, Marcel suggested. They starting running, and then they realized how out of shape they were, after all the running they did on their uncanny adventure. Marcel finally thought it was time to retire for the day.
They looked for a cave or hole for them to sleep in to spend the night.
HONK! honked one of the flonkers. Everyone ran to see what he had found.
Keep looking. Marcel said, his hope fading. It is only a big huge cave. He turned around sadly, then realized what he was saying, and jumped into the cave and laid down on the floor with the other flonkers, already inside the cave.
They dozed off within minutes and started to snore in the seconds after. They stayed this way for over eight hours.
They woke to the sound of a familiar voice outside the cave. They all got up quickly to see who it was.
It was the pie lady and her sister from Prancingpork!
Come on Marge! said the anonymous pie lady. The king will want to hear about that man and the flonkers, and how they burned down my house! They cackled as they strode off into the forest.
We have to beat them to the castle! Marcel said leaping out of the cave. They trotted down a path that a flonker honked to be a shortcut to the castle.
