My 1968 Tempest Custom
My 1968 Tempest Custom
This Is my 68 Tempest. I am the third owner and just bought it for $1200 and drove it home. I am getting ready to start it's restoration in the next few weeks. The car has been in my hometown since the original owner had it and was quite nice when the second owner purchased it. but the second owner was a high school kid who drove it daily, drove it right into the ground. as you can see in the trunk photo he backed it into a poll, replaced the bumper but left the twisted tail panel, I will fix it! the good news is that the car is still pretty solid, being an Ohio car in this kind of shape is rare! as of right now I have purchased lemans bucket seats and a floor shift steering column to replace the factory bench.right now it has a 350 (pontiac) and a 2-speed automatic. I am unsure what engine I am going to use and the tranny will be swaped out for a turbo 350/400, maybe even a 700r4. I am planning to ditch the 8.2 stock rear end for a 12 bolt or ford 9". you get the idea of what I am building, a street/ strip(mostly street)cruiser. I will post updates and photo's of it's restoration as i can, and as money allow.
