Persona           Poems            Songs            Tales            Manifest of the Court of Open Love
Deferrance, Sonnets of Eros and Philosophia and Abondance, Sonnets of Open Love

These sonnet sequences tell part of my journey from loving one to loving many: upon the
failure of my proposal of a polyfidelitous triad, I found myself pierced with Love's dart for
the sake of yet a third beloved man. The song
Bed of Thorns rendereth my amazement at
this curious turning in my affections. As it is the custom of those who follow the master Petrarch
to create a  punning name for the beloved unto whom they address their verses, all references
to deferral, staying, lingering, and the like shall multiple...or poly...seem, for my beloved, here in
these poems.  Those who know these works from an earlier version will see that the sonnets are
newly divided, and some that were designated part of the sequence
Deferrance, are transferred
to the sequence
Abondance. Abondance, or abundance, is my punning name for my beloved
who constraineth not my love for others, which floweth so freely in these more recent poems.
Ye may remark numerous anachronisms, especially of the second sequence, which I may revise
to a more period language and symbol  at some later date. Examples of what I can do in this style
are the sonnet
Pandora Peripateia, which describeth reding such a scroll as the one now before you
variously, as a window casement and a treasure cask, as well  as
Ill Serv'd and Structures, which
speak respectively of the servant who fetcheth the scroll, and of my own employment as scribe and
bard assisted by a
cybernetes or steersman, as Charon assisted Dante and Virgil on their enlightening
journey through the nether realms.
