Fastest Player - Winner - Matthew S.; Runners up - Johnny, Jacob
No one is faster than Matthew Soegtrop for the second straight year. Bursting speeds down the flanks terrorize on both offensive and defensive ends. Incredible stuff. |
Most Heart (or balls if you prefer) - Winner - Peter; Runners up - Patrick, Jacob
Peter as a rookie showed more dedication to the FFL than any other player before him. To take incredulous dives out of bounds onto cement, slide on ice, take spills into poles, throw and receive elbows from David and still manage to get up, that my friends, takes super balls...erm, heart. |

Butterfingers Mahoney Award - Most - Winner - James; Runners up - Jacob, Patrick. James finished with a whopping 42, followed closely by Jacob with 41, and Pat with 35. Butterfingers Mahoney Award - Average - Winner - Kyle; Runners up - Lenny, Graham. Legendary Kyle finished with 4 per game, with Lenny second with 3.4, and Graham with 2.4 |
Most Fumbles - Winner - Jacob; Runner up - Alex, Tommy.
Dropping the ball after making a catch is super ugly. In fact, it's pug fugly, no matter how you look at it. Jacob, despite making good catches all year long, fell into a pattern of dropping the ball after a catch had been made. Kudos to Alex and Tommy for their own drops as well. |
Most Painful Moment - Winner - Owen; Runners up - Pat, Peter.
Owen, who upon taking the chance to smell the grass around him, got such a violent hipcheck from own teammate Alex, that pidgeons in France put their heads into their wings and croo-ed in silence (April 6). Honorable mentions go to Pat's Lenny like face catches and Pete's cement slides. |
The Whiney McWhine Award - Winners - James; Runners up - Graham, Matthew C.
Some things never change. Queue the "Here comesth Jamesth" music, and let the whining fly. Honestly, you'd think once his voice dropped (along with his ballsack naturally), the whining would be more tolerable. Nay son. It's even worse. |
Most Interesting Choice of Fashion - Winner - Maciej; Runners up - Tommy, Graham.
Maciej continues to shock and awe the FFL with his incredible fashion choices. During games in the FFL 05-06 season, Maciej either wore too much (winter jacket in spring) or too little (sweatshirt in snow). Kudos to Tommy for being a quicksilver witch, and Alex for his gray sweatshirt. |
Top Catching Percentage - Winner - Alex; Runners up - Patrick, Jacob.
Awarded to the player with the highest percentage of catches, Alex takes the award thanks to his consistent play. He rarely if ever made the catch look easy (every game had one of those Traff-alex moments, or a bobbled 'am i gonna catch it, ma?' snag) but he rarely if ever dropped a throw. Only had 11 mahoney's in 14 games. |
Most Consistent Player - Winner - Alex; Runners up - Patrick, Peter.
Alex simply managed to bring the same game, game in, game out. You knew what was coming from the guy, and his "ratings" rarely went below 7, or above 9. |
Hey, you isn't guy! Award - Winner - Danielle; Runners up - Maddie, Chloe.
Awarded to the girl with the most football skills, Danielle takes the award the third year running. Although she was limited to 2 games this FFL season, she did have 3 touchdowns and brought good solid awareness on defence. |
The Triple M Award - Winner - Johnny ; Runners up - Alex/Cody, Peter.
This awarded is given for the most memorable moment, and although all 3 of the aforementioned were good, Johnny's kickoff returns were beyond hillarious. To watch the guy palm the ball with one hand, run one way, then another, and somehow manage to elude everyone was beyond classic. Honorable mentions go to Alex's toss on Cody, who never showed up again, and Peter's numerous cement slides. How he got up from those with only a smile and a head-shake are questions best left unanswered. |
