Hydro-electric power:

Many countries have hydro-electric power station to produce electricity. In a hydro-electric power station, water is kept in the upper lake by a dam so that potential energy is stored. The potential energy as the water is released. This drives the turbine and then the generator produces electricity.

Wind power:

Wind energy has been used for centuries to grind grains and pump water. Modern wind turbines can change the energy of  moving air into electricity.

Nuclear power:

Nuclear power stations use energy released during the breaking down of nuclear fuels to boil water to steam. The steam produced drives the turbine which in turn drives the turbine which in turn drives the generators to produce electrical energy.

Solar Power:

Electrical can be produced in a solar power station which uses mirrors to focus the sun's rays onto a liquid. The liquid becomes do hot (up to 500 c) that it can turn drives a turbine generator and produces electricity.
