Polastar Kennels started in 1967 with the purchase of a bitch, Berioska Anatasha (Tasha). Her sire was Ch.Vladimir Of Jomil (Imp Uk) who had been imported by one of the early breedrs inVictoria, Australia, Mrs Joan Rowse. Tasha attained her title and included in her wins in the show ring was Bitch Challenge, Royal Melbourne Show 1971.
Tasha was mated to Ch. Alpayo Mikhailovitch (a consistent winner in the ring and also a Royal MelbourneShow Challenge winner, (owned by Mr & Mrs A Young) and from this litter came Ch. Polastar Chadee (owned by Mr. J. Spencer) & Ch. Polastar Shauna (owned by Mrs L Sell). Shauna followed in her sire and dams footsteps by also winning a Challenge at a Royal Melbourne Show and from her first litter, Shandell Trenton attained Dog Challenge and best Puppy In Group at a Melbourne Royal.
We later acquired Thabella Krystara (Tara) whose sire was Ch. Thaballa Thor and Dam was ChThaballa Snow Krystal. Tara was the Samoyed Club of Victoria’s Top Junior Bitch 1970 and Top Intermediate Bitch 1971.
Our next bitch was Ch. Alpayo Miksu Antonina (Nina). She was a really beautiful bitch and we did a lot of showing and winning with her. Nina attained her title and was one of very few bitch’s to win both the Samoyed Club of Victoria Championship Show Bitch Challenge and the Royal Melbourne Show Bitch Challenge in the same year. From her we had only one litter and from which came Ch. Polastar Trian Tonya (owned by Mr & Mrs G Roberts) and Ch.PolastarTrianVictory (owned by Mrs D Klaaysen).
Our current dogs are Polastar Chantily Lace CD who was trialled rather than shown, Ch.PolastarKindred Spirit who was Best Of Breed, Canberra Royal, 1997, & Polastar Heavens T Betsi, who was best Baby Puppy In Show, Canberra Royal 1997. We also have Elgianto Royal Starlady who delights helping out with Christmas sled runs.
