School and Trainer's House
| In 1998, there was a small school that taught its young students
about pokémon. In the year 2000, this school was demolished and
the Trainer's House was built in its place
The Trainer's House is a facility where trainers battle one
another on a daily basis. There's nothing special about winning,
but it's a good place to train pokémon. Many people come from all
over Kanto just for a battle here.
The Trainer's House was originally built because of the road
west of Viridian City that leads straight to Victory Road. Many
people had to pass through Viridian City to reach the Elite
Four. |

Gym

The Viridian City Gym Leader is almost never present. In the
1990's, it was Giovani,
who then was also the leader of Team
Rocket. After Red
beat him, Giovani officially disbanned Team Rocket for the first
time.
In the year 2000, Blue
was appointed Gym Leader, but since he still was on his pokémon
adventure, he was often absent from the gym.

Viridian
Forest
| North of Viridian City is the very confusing Viridian Forest.
This forest is full of dropped items, lost bug-catchers,
dead-ends, and wild pokémon. |
